The Center for Teaching and Learning recognizes the unique opportunity afforded to those who teach and care for young children. Children are born primed for learning. An explosion of brain development occurs during the first three years of life which will create a template or foundation on which all later learning will be constructed.

The Center for Teaching and Learning strives to support learning in the early years by providing

• A format for people working in early childhood programs and with young children to share professional information, needs, and experiences
• A collection of curriculum and teaching resources that is accessible to early childhood professionals.
