Our mission is to support learners of all ages, and those who teach them

AP* Psychology - July 12 to 15, 2010

The main goal of this institute is to provide high school psychology teachers with a variety of strategies and techniques they can use to enhance their students’ learning experience.  Participants will have the opportunity to explore in some detail aspects of the AP* Psychology experience that are essential for student success in the course and on the exam.  Discussions will be guided by the interests and expertise of the participants, but they will include the following topics: the course (e.g., organizing the material, selecting a textbook), the exam (e.g., types of questions, use of rubrics to score free response questions), student preparation (e.g., study tips, strategies for success on the exam), and teaching resources (e.g., professional organizations, online resources).  Discussions will be supplemented by demonstrations, activities, and brief videos designed to emphasize the role of active learning in student success, and participants will be encouraged to share ideas and techniques they have used effectively to promote student learning.
